April 28, 2015 - San Evaristo

We spent several lovely days here.  There was some great snorkeling around the north end of the bay.  We were also able to take a hike up a hill on a horse trail and Steve scrambled up the hill behind us in the bay we were in for some pictures.  There is a small tienda, store, here which is the only store for miles.  Only 6 families live in this small fishing village and getting to and from the area is a long dirt road to the highway.  There is one restaurant that we visited with our friends from sv Tappan Zee one evening as well as a new gentleman we met in La Paz, Roy from sv Mabrouca.  We had Parrotfish and it was grilled in an aluminum pocket with vegetables, rice, tortillas and salsa.  Wonderful!  Charlotte and Steve (Americans) were running it since Jaunito (sp?), the owner, was off in La Paz provisioning.  Charlotte and Steve have been living here for 5 years and love it.  Charlotte is teaching 4yr old Angel but she did tell us that there are two middle school children here and 12 or so kindergarten children, wow!

San Evaristo and lots of cruising boats at anchor
Our lovely anchorage, which we had all to ourselves.  Love the water color.
Kathy and the kids on the bow for a photo.  Steve hiked up a big hill to get this.

Lots of cactus in this part of the world.  It is VERY dry here.

Our Rocna anchor buried in the white sand.  Clear water, this was about 20' deep.
